The Tulsa Indoor Lacrosse League (TILL) is back! Games will be played on Thursdays at 5:30 at Soccer City in Tulsa. The league will run for seven weeks, beginning August 10th and running through September 21st.
In local lacrosse news, Newman University is starting a men's lacrosse team this fall. Newman is a 2400 student Catholic university in Wichita, KS. The team will play in the Great River Lacrosse Conference.
This is a rare opportunity to be one of the founders of a university's lacrosse team. For more details and contact information, read the full announcement on the message boards.
After defeating the Rhinos in the preliminary round, Bait Shop Lacrosse defended their title against Flying Monkey. Flying Monkey had defeated Boulevard to reach the final and were looking to win another championship after a 4 year drought.
It was a sweltering 100°F during the game. Bait Shop scored the initial goal, but the Monkeys quickly countered. At the end of the first quarter, Bait Shop was ahead by a goal, a lead that they extended by one in the subsequent two quarters. The Monkeys narrowed the gap at the start of the fourth quarter, but Bait Shop poured it on to finish the game ahead 11-6.
Congratulations to Bait Shop Lacrosse on their third straight Championship!
Don't miss the photos of the championship.
UPDATE: Omaha could not make it to the tournament, so we will have a Final Four after all.
It's time for the 2006 GPLL Championship Tournament! Here is the bracket:

With only one more week left in the regular season, Bait Shop almost has a lock on 1st place. But the battle for 2nd and 3rd place continues, as well as the coveted 4th place spot to get into the Final Four.

It's time to wash your jersy and start cleaning the mud off your equipment from the final game of last season. The 2006 lacrosse season is just around the corner, and things are looking interesting this year. Omaha is forming a new team, the Rhinos, who plan on joining the GPLL. So maybe we can stretch the GPLL back out again.
Finally, there are several opportunities to coach youth teams in Kansas City. See the Message Board for more details.
